Budget 2026 · Lens
Trades in Budget 2026
Budget 2026 leans on the skilled trades: Team Canada Strong aims to add up to 100,000 Red Seal workers by 2031, and the money for homes, highways, grids and rinks only turns into anything if crews can build it.
Totals are five-year net impacts on the budgetary balance, kept separate by money type. A measure can appear under several lenses, so lens totals overlap and should not be added together.
If you run a shop or a crew, three things matter here: the apprenticeship supports (they lower the cost of hiring), the Productivity Mega Deduction (it changes the math on equipment), and the build-out spending (it becomes tenders). We help owners turn all three into a plan: which programs to use, which tenders to chase and which tools to put in place first.
